Matt Pritchard to Join HomeStart as New President & Executive Director
HomeStart announced today that Matt Pritchard will be joining HomeStart as its new President & Executive Director, starting on June 1st, 2015. Pritchard will oversee the organization’s programs, staff members, and budget, furthering HomeStart’s mission to prevent and end homelessness in the Greater Boston area.
“HomeStart has grown a lot since it was established 21 years ago, and our fight to end and prevent homelessness continues,” said Chris Powell, HomeStart’s Chair of the Board. “Given Matt’s impressive record of accomplishment in serving people coping with issues like poverty and homelessness, we are very excited to welcome him to the HomeStart team.”
Pritchard brings over 16 years of experience in launching and growing nonprofit ventures and advocating for at-risk populations. Prior to joining HomeStart, Pritchard was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Victory Programs, Inc., a Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals and families who may have substance use disorders and chronic health issues. In this role, he directed and managed the organization’s administration and operations, including its 18 programs and $11.5m operation. He has also worked as a manager and consultant for Youth Villages, Inc. and Advancement Plus Inc., respectively.
Pritchard holds a Master’s in business administration with a concentration in social entrepreneurship from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts from Wheaton College, Illinois. He resides in Boston.
