Matching Gifts

Check with your company to see if they offer a corporate matching gift program and include your company’s matching gift form within your donation.

Fashion Project

Donate now by cleaning out your closet to help prevent and end homelessness!

Fashion Project is an online luxury boutique that lets you donate and shop the labels you love for a good cause. You can donate higher-end clothing, shoes and handbags, and Fashion Project sells them for you online. When your item is purchased, the proceeds then go to benefit HomeStart, meaning your donations carry x100 the financial impact of a standard thrift store!

GoodSearch and GoodShop

Use or, pick HomeStart as your non-profit andHomeStart will receive a single cent for every search you use, and a percentage ofevery purchase you make.

Tribute Gifts

Celebrate a momentous life event, such as a new home or a wedding by making a contribution to HomeStart. You can also honor the memory of a loved one with a thoughtful gift to HomeStart.


A simple way to make a planned gift to HomeStart is through a bequest in your will or a provision in your living trust. You may specify that HomeStart is to be the recipient of a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular piece of property.

Welcome Home Baskets

Help a homeless individual or family make the transition to their own apartment by making ‘Welcome Home Baskets’ filled with new household items. A perfect community service project, ‘Welcome Home Baskets’ have helped numerous clients over the years get a head start making their new housing a home. Recommendeditems include

  • Gift Cards to CVS, Target, Shaw’s, Stop & Shop, or Wal-Mart
  • Small appliances (microwave, toaster, coffeemaker)
  • Electronics (alarm clock, CD player, small TV)
  • Bed linens (twin or full), pillows, shower curtain, towels
  • Cleaning products, broom, mop/bucket, dish soap, sponges, dishes
  • Flatware, pans, cooking utensils, oven mitts, can opener
  • Charlie Cards or any other similar items
Due to storage and transportation limitations, HomeStart unfortunately does not accept furniture donations. If you have furniture that you would like to donate, please contact the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Furniture Bank in Lynn, MA. You can also call them at 781-595-7570.
